About Brandon M. Scharer, DPM
Brandon M. Scharer, DPM is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery, including total ankle replacement. As a subspecialist, he sees a large volume of problems ranging from relatively simple to very complex. He has a special interest in the treatment of ankle arthritis, ankle instability, and complex reconstruction. Dr. Scharer performs a high volume of primary and revision foot and ankle surgeries.
Dr. Scharer joined orthopedics and sports medicine in 2014 and has been practicing in northeastern Wisconsin for 13+ years. He completed his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Scharer’s practice philosophy emphasizes compassionate, high-value care, while bringing the latest innovative solutions to his patients. He always takes the time to listen sincerely to his patients’ concerns and offers exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process.
In addition to total ankle replacement, Dr. Scharer has a special interest in 3D bunion correction utilizing the Lapiplasty® system, ankle arthroscopy, Brostrom ankle stabilization, flatfoot and high-arch foot reconstruction, cartilage restoration and revision surgery.
Dr. Scharer also does research on foot and ankle issues, publishing in professional journals and presenting at professional conferences.
