Lydia J. Bernhardt, MD is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders and brain tumors. She has expertise in spinal degenerative disease and deformity, spinal oncology, minimally invasive spine surgery, and robotic spine surgery. Dr. Bernhardt’s clinical practice also includes brain tumors, such as gliomas, meningiomas, and metastases; and pain disorders such as trigeminal neuralgia and Chiari malformation. 

Dr. Bernhardt earned a degree in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed residency in neurosurgery and fellowship training in complex spine surgery and robotics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, which has been ranked #1 in the nation for neurosurgery by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Bernhardt served in the Army Reserves with the 48th Combat Support Hospital at Fort Meade. 

God has given Dr. Bernhardt and her husband the precious gift of three daughters. She and her family enjoy cooking, exploring the great Wisconsin outdoors, and reading.
