Meet Dr. Haroon Zubair: From Inspiration to Impact
Every physician has a story—a journey that shapes their passion for medicine and their approach to patient care. At BayCare Clinic, we’re proud to introduce one of our dedicated cardiologists, Dr. Haroon Zubair, whose commitment to excellence and compassion makes a difference every day.
A Lifelong Calling
For Dr. Zubair, the path to medicine began early. Growing up with a father who was a physician, the influence was undeniable.
“From a young age, medicine seemed like a meaningful career choice,” Dr. Zubair reflects. “Looking back now, I’m grateful I followed that path. It’s rewarding, purposeful, and gives life meaning.”
Why Cardiology?
While his father’s career as a cardiologist sparked initial interest, the decision was solidified during medical school.
“I explored different specialties, but cardiology stood out,” Dr. Zubair said. “It offers a unique blend of outpatient care, diagnostic work, and procedures. I focus on structural and interventional cardiology, so my work is varied—I’m not just in the cath lab; I also see patients. That variety is what makes cardiology so appealing.”
Expertise You Can Trust
After completing three years of general cardiology training, he pursued advanced specialization with an additional year in interventional cardiology and another in structural cardiology. Today, his focus is on complex heart procedures that restore health and improve quality of life.
Finding Home at BayCare Clinic
In 2020, Dr. Zubair and his wife moved to Wisconsin and quickly fell in love with the community.
“We’ve built strong social connections here,” he says.
Professionally, the transition to BayCare Clinic felt natural.
“I’ve always appreciated the culture within Advocate Aurora, the way employees are valued and the resources we have to care for patients,” Dr. Zubair shared. “BayCare Clinic shares those same values.”
A Patient-Centered Approach
“The human aspect cannot be emphasized enough,” Dr. Zubair explains. “I start by listening, understanding why the patient is here and what matters most to them. Nobody wants to be in a hospital without reason. I treat patients the way I’d want my family treated. At BayCare Clinic, we have the environment to deliver truly patient-centered care.”
Moments That Matter
One case stands out in his memory—a patient in shock from severe valve regurgitation.
“We arranged an emergency procedure after hours, and within hours, their condition stabilized dramatically,” Dr. Zubair recalls. “Seeing that transformation and then meeting them a month later was incredibly rewarding.”
Beyond the White Coat
Outside of work, family comes first. With two kids, most of Dr. Zubair’s time revolves around them. He also enjoys sports—once a cricket enthusiast, he’s now a devoted football fan and proud supporter of the Green Bay Packers.
“People are often surprised by my sense of humor,” he laughs. “There’s a perception that physicians are always serious, but I believe positivity makes life easier. I enjoy keeping things light when appropriate.”
