Empowering Wellness, Connection, and Community Support – BayCare Foundation’s Grant Highlights

feed News and More

At the BayCare Clinic Foundation (BCCF), we remain committed to championing programs that strengthen the health, safety, and emotional well‑being of individuals and families throughout Northeast Wisconsin. This cycle, we are proud to support two initiatives that uplift diverse communities through education, connection, and compassionate support.

Health & Wellness Grant

We’re pleased to support Corazón de Green Bay, a bilingual, community‑rooted initiative developed by UW–Green Bay in partnership with the YWCA. This pilot program is designed to strengthen the health and well‑being of Hispanic/Latinx families by pairing culturally affirming food education with essential emergency preparedness training.

Through this program, participants will:

  • Learn how to plan and prepare nutritious meals that honor cultural traditions.
  • Gain hands‑on cooking experience with guidance from local chefs.
  • Earn CPR, AED, and First Aid certification entirely in Spanish, following American Heart Association standards.
  • Join a trusted community learning hub where families can continue growing skills, connection, and confidence.

This innovative model blends food literacy, wellness skill‑building, and lifesaving training—empowering families to thrive while reinforcing community health and cultural pride.

Mental Health Initiative Grant

Mental wellness is foundational to strong, connected communities. We’re proud to support the Stay Alive Together Peer Support Program, an initiative designed to provide early, accessible emotional support for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or emotional distress.

Support is provided by trained Stay Alive Peers—volunteers with lived experience who use their personal journeys to offer empathy, understanding, and nonjudgmental connection. These peer supporters complement clinical care by bridging a critical gap that often exists after immediate interventions.

The program strengthens community mental health by:

  • Reducing isolation through early, compassionate peer connection.
  • Increasing hope and reinforcing coping skills before crises escalate.
  • Providing a trauma‑informed space where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported.
  • Enhancing long‑term emotional resilience through lived‑experience‑centered support.

Together, these programs reflect our mission to build a healthier, more resilient community for all.
