Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Meyer were recently featured in Becker’s Hospital Review discussing their perspectives on the most dangerous trends in healthcare today and what BayCare is doing to ensure local access to high-quality specialty care for the communities we serve.
“The most dangerous trend in healthcare today is the growing gap between rising costs, increasing demand for care, and a shrinking workforce,” says Dr. Bhatia. Dr. Meyer adds, “The decline in services and closures of rural hospitals represents the most dangerous trend in healthcare today. Across our region, rural hospitals are increasingly struggling to recruit and retain qualified physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other essential healthcare professionals.”
